A Look Back

Honor Your Story by Telling It Forward

Working Hard to Bring the Past to Life

Your stories and photos are priceless treasures, and the time to preserve them is now. Do you know how your grandparents met? How much do your children or nieces and nephews know about your day-to-day life as you grew up?  About the uncle or aunt or cousin who died young? Besides saving the stories, looking back can be an enriching exercise in itself for you or your parents or grandparents, your faith community, your business, your club.

A Look Back founder Gail Stobaugh (hard at work above) believes everyone has stories worth sharing and wants to help you tell yours. She interviewed hundreds of people as a reporter for the St. Louis Suburban Journals and has worked in book publishing at Chalice Press for 15 years. Whether your goal is to publish a memoir you've already written, have a slideshow for a special occasion, hire a writer to create a book, have an audio file of you or your loved ones' stories, scan and organize your photos, or some other similar project, A Look Back can help you.

Prices are as varied as the projects, from a hundred dollars for a slideshow or photo book to a few thousand for a book based on in-depth interviews and research. Contact A Look Back by emailing
